-- This Sub Part covers my first 6 months in Northern Cal from I recall mid-September 1974 through March 20,1975, my move from Montague to Yreka by mid-November and Karen one of the girls I met in Vacaville, comes down from Portland to live with me. -- Karen's idea to make trips to Crescent City within days of the mass murder spree there, and a Yreka psychiatrist links to the subsequent murder trial over it. -- Karen's inexhaustible supply of pharmaceuticals apparently supplied by way of the 'back to back' burglaries of a Yreka pharmacy used as cover to supply her and the other local dopers. -- I'm just a 'pot' and beer head with occasional psychedelics on the side and take some classes at the College of the Siskiyous.

Post -Watergate & Nixon --- The last bloody months of the Vietnam debacle --- Some ‘hip’ locals --- Young Urban refugees, drop-outs --- working hard --- Getting ‘high’ --- The Chick from Portland makes an October visit to the place I share in Montague Near Yreka --- I get my own place in Yreka by November 1974 --- Karen, the 19 year-old from Portland, I met on the 'hitch-hike' to Northern Cal, comes down & Moves in By Thanksgiving --- College Classes in Weed, California --- Weekend drives in Karen’s ‘66 VW from Yreka to Crescent City, California which wasn’t much 1974 after the ‘64 Alaskan Mega-Earth Quake Caused a Tsunami which destroyed much of downtown --- Several Trips to Portland including Christmas ‘74 with her family &v friends One had to ask and wonder repeatedly…Had I really escaped what ever it was I being set-up for back in L.A. County ??? --- Or --- Was it all just under different management up here in some hole-in-the wall town at the Northern edge of California just south of the Oregon Border ??? Then there was the girl, the sidetrip to Portland Yes it was to be Portland where I was to be led if my hunches & instincts were on cue, --- Time will tell --- She’ll make the suggestion fo move to Portland if I’m right --- after all it's possble that I'm still a little paranoid as the result of quitting 'speed' --- then in September '74 only a couple of weeks before the Labor Day '74 Weekend move north.'

* Double Think about my situation --- the relative superficial freedom --- but my streetwise self senses a scam --- Plus the fact that girlfreind's subsequent October '74 visit and move down to Northern Cal to live me November and Thanksgiving --- further confirm my secret suspicion that somehow --- for some reasons unknown --- certian forces --- perhaps those behind the murder of my friend 'Spud' --- then only 3 years before --- somehow want to manipulate me up to Portland --- for reasons I good or ill --- or both --- knowing that whatever I'm being set up for --- it was important enough to murder 'Spud' over is

* The acid test right to see if I'm am being prestaged in Norhern Cal --- for future intended manipulaton will be to see if at all --- and then possibly when my girlfriend would suggest we move up to Portland --- If not, well then it would appear that I wasn't being sucked into going there --- and my secret suspicions about my Portland girlfreind are wrong --- or possibly wrong in part --- whereby I'll be much relieved to get on with my life just like anyone else
